WiiU eShop

Wii U is now available for those in North and South America, and apparently it’s been doing really well so far. And what a surreal thing to see our game on it too! Has anyone tried a Wii U yet? None of us actually have one yet, and two of us are in Europe where we can’t buy one for a few more weeks. (Nope, being a developer doesn’t get you free consoles. Fun fact.)

MEANWHILE, Nintendo World Report has just posted one of the more in-depth interviews about Little Inferno we’ve done so far.

Little Inferno At Nintendo Spain Event

Photo taken at a Nintendo of Spain event by the Chasing Aurora guys. It almost makes us feel like real game developers! The Wii U comes out tomorrow in North and South America.

Meanwhile, as we sit by our fires, sipping our cocoa, waiting for everything to launch tomorrow, The Reticule has posted a lovely new preview about an exceptionally difficult to talk about game.

New Gameplay Trailer! (And early Beta builds now open to everyone.)

Wednesday, November 14th, 2012

  • You can also pre-purchase Little Inferno right here on our own site which will also get you the final beta version to play with immediately, as well as a small preview of the soundtrack, and a Steam key.
  • A huge thanks to our volunteers, Little Inferno is now translated into French, Spanish, German, and Dutch. (The Wii U version in North America is currently English only, but will be updated as soon as we can.) Check the credits in the game to view the names of our adventurous volunteers.

Nintendo Life First Review of Little Inferno

The folks at NintendoLife have just posted a poetic first review/impression of Little Inferno here. Some clips:

And now, thanks to a preview build of upcoming Wii U release Little Inferno, we can confirm that this next title is both a brilliant follow-up, and an intriguing step forward.

Describing Little Inferno is a challenge. Say too little, and it sounds like a quirkier cousin of Fireplacing. Say too much, and the experience gets robbed of its surprising magic. So bear with us as we dance around the impressive twists and turns of a game that consists almost solely of one screen.

Little Inferno is a game about destruction and isolation. It’s a deliberately small release that somehow manages to feel enormous, perhaps due to its whispered suggestions of an entire world beyond that wall you’re staring at. A world that may in fact be dying, but which is large and mysterious all the same. Sometimes in life you must struggle just to keep warm. Other times it might be worth risking the cold. After all, if you never risk it, you’ll never know…
