We tossed Little Inferno into the iPad App Store fire yesterday, hoped for the best, and subsequently watched with potpourri in our eyes as it crawled its way up to #4 in the charts as of this writing. Thanks to everyone who wrote thoughtful reviews so far, both in the app store, and especially those whose quotes we totally clipped out and stuck all over our screenshots – see all five below!
To create this version of Little Inferno for iOS, we worked with the talented Gil Carmel (and Ron’s brother), who was the same fellow responsible for the iOS version of World of Goo.
Snuggling up with Miss Nancy: We’ve seen a few articles so far describing Little Inferno as a damning criticism of social/casual games. But to be clear – although Little Inferno has a lot of fun flamboyantly using social/casual game mechanics, the game is not mean to be a mean spirited attack on other games. In fact, a couple of us here at Tomorrow Corporation actually enjoy games like Tiny Tower, and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic! (seriously, try it). So, while the satire aspect of Little Inferno is undeniably there, I’d call it more of a friendly ribbing – and certainly not the reason for the game to exist – really just a lowly tool in service of a simpler, hopefully more heart-warming, less game-specific overall message. Hope that helps! Do you have more questions for Miss Nancy? Ask below in the comments!

You need to publish Little Inferno for Android devices. The Nook Store NEEDS AWESOME GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Bryce Allen: I don’t know about the minimal CPU power and memory needed for this game, but with the iPad port released (with iOS using OpenGL or OpenGL|ES) there should be *some* possibilities for a far bigger range of the mobile devices world. Screen size is maybe a problem for some devices, I think. But I’m very happy because with the game having been transferred to OpenGL we can look out for the Linux and Mac versions being just around the corner – hopefully.
@Tomorrow Corporation: Congrats on shipping the iPad version!
It crashes every time I open it for iPad mini please help!!!
Hey Sam, iPads can run low on memory just like any other computer. Try closing all other apps by either 1. Fully reset the device OR 2. Double tap the home button, and long-press and “x” to close all the currently running apps.
I said before and i said again as soon as i saw this i was looking forward to it until i notice it was ipad only until i notice there was a pc on steam and just bought and i love this going to my second play, but please consider making a iphone version
Fantastic guys, congrats on once again being a huge hit! I tell you if I had an iPad I would have bought it a second time right away.
I really have no idea how much it costed, how long it took to download and how long I’m playing it already. This is really a great game. Love the art, music and story. Great job guys!
great little inferno for my Ipad mini! and good price!
please, now release italian patch! thanks
I purchased for iPad Mini, played the whole game and then realized that there was a soundtrack that I never heard and when I got to the ending it stalled. So I reinstalled it, losing all my progress, and the second time I still have no music. Help?
Hey Brian, you never heard any music ever during the whole game? Has this happened to anyone else?
Thanks for the report, we’ll look into it!
Possibly silly question: have you checked the physical mute switch?
I’ve a question for Miss Nancy: who is best pony?
Amazing game, Tomorrow Corporation!
One tiny question-I am on my 2nd play through utilizing an iPad Mini. Both times, the game has crashed upon the first use of the item “Book of Darkness”. I lose all money from the fireplace, and the combo that was achieved did not save.
I believe it’s an ingenious, intentionally hidden glitch tied to the description of the book itself. My friend believes it’s an issue with the game that might need repair…
And, as it’s Super Bowl Sunday-we have money riding on the answer
Thanks again guys and keep the fires burning!
Requires front facing camera? Would love to see supports for older hardware.
Yeah….a lot of folk still have original iPads….nothing I’ve heard about the game or can imagine from what I have heard suggests a camera should be mandatory…..
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ANDROID NEXUS7!!!!!!!!!!
Now that it is out for iPad, will we see universal ios gameplay? I would love to play it on my 5g iPod.
2nd one here. Some people don’t have iPads you know!!
Can you please make an iPhone/iPod version. I love this game but don’t have a computer or iPad, only an iPod touch. It would be great if someone replied. Thank you.
I cant purchase this awesome game because i dont have a front facing camera on my 1st gen ipad? Please fix!
Hi guys,
Great work with the iPad version.
Now the game has proven itself as a big success, especially in the App Store, are we likely to see any content updates in the future at all?
I just finished playing the PC version of your game and it has been an honor to have experienced it. Thank you for making actual art in game format.
I posted this on the contact form at 2D Boy, since the contact form on this website is not available. I just want to make sure at least one of you guys sees it:
Hello, I’m LB. I run a little blog that reviews indie books and video games called Books & Broomsticks. I just finished up my review of Little Inferno that will be posted on the 11th. I was curious if either or both of you would have the time to participate in an interview? It would simply involve ten questions I send to be answered then posted to my blog. I would be honoured to interview you and ask questions about what you do. Please let me know.
Too sad iPad version _requires_ front camera. But guyz. WHY are you leaving me without my game?! /SADFACE
I LOVE this game! I played it without issue on my ipad and my ipad mini. Please keep making games! Please! If you ventured into the world of hidden object games for us middle aged chicks, I’d love you forever.
It’s so fantastic to see this game go from a beta with nothing behind it but a trailer with no gameplay and a few known names, into this massive cult success.
Good job guys! Hope you’re pleased with yourselves, all your fans sure are!
I haven’t bought the game yet, but if seen youtube vids on it and it looks amazing.
Once you do finish it can you make a new save file
This is wonderful but you guys should definitly build an android versin. Id pay for it twice if there was.
BRING IT OUT ON IPOD!!!!!!!!!
Can you make it so that we can turn off the music? Pleeeeeaaaase?
Please put it on ipod touch
. I tried it on my brothers ipad mini and it was awkwardly satisfying. I will feel very honoured if i get a reply from one of the game developers :p

I have truer many things like reinstalling the app, reabooting my phone and closing all the other apps from multi tasking but it still crashes! Please help!
Hey Curt, thanks for the report! Just like computers, iPhones can run low on memory, and sometimes need to be turned off and then on again. Will you try that out and let us know if that helps?
How can I fix the problem?
The game still crashes even after reastarting.
I just tried that to see if it would work but it did not fix the problem for some reason it still crashes before it gets to the choose profile screen.
